A Return Visit to Japan - Malaysia Technical Institute (JMTi) on 18 November 2016.
DICN was invited for a return visit to JMTi to take a look on training facilities in JMTi especially machineries in engineering department. The objective of the site visit is to forge a tie and relationship between JMTi and USM. Besides, it is also hoped to gain knowledge and advices from USM expertise in particular areas especially engineering. JMTi also hoped to further enhance the linkages with Japan with several collaborations between USM and JMTi. Among the possible collaborations discussed are as follows:
- Japanese language training for JMTI staff
- Postgraduate studies – Master/PhD for JMTI staff
- Visit of Japanese Cultural Center of Kyoto University of Foreign Studies (KUFS)
- Sakura week – with Japan cultural activities
- Teaching Factory program with USM especially in Engineering schools
- Prototype development from USM research
- Robotic vision exchange – mechanical engineering
- 3D printing – facility sharing
- Seminar by Japanese academics
- USM-JMTI TVET program
