INDUSTRY ON CAMPUS (IOC)

For the year 2025, the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) has set seven (7) main focus areas to ensure that the transformation of higher education can be implemented more sustainably and effectively. One of the key focus areas is Producing the Nation’s Best Talent: Empowering Industry on Campus (IoC). The latest guidelines have yet to be issued by the Department of Higher Education (JPT), KPT. To date, the IoC facilities recognised by MOHE are the Teaching Factory, Competence Centre, Joint Lab, and Makers Space.

The USM Industry Network Office defines IoC facilities as a space for collaboration between industry and USM until the official guidelines are released by JPT, KPT.
