AT THE UNIVERSITY-COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT CONFERENCE 2012 (UCEC 2012)
It is an honour and a privilege for me to be here today as UCEC 2012 is the first collaboration arising from the inaugural conference in 2009 where a resolution was passed for USM to co-organise future UCECs with other community-engaged universities in the region. The UCEC 2009 was initiated by the Division of Industry & Community Network, USM (popularly known by its Malay acronym, BJIM) which itself is an entity established in 2007 in only 5 Research Universities in Malaysia to enhance and strengthen linkages with industries and communities.
